The role
Atruss Preservation is looking for a dependable damp proofing operative to join our small specialist team. You will work in occupied homes and managed properties, so good workmanship, clear communication and respect for the customer’s home are essential.
The work may include diagnosing and treating rising damp, installing chemical damp-proof courses, removing contaminated plaster, applying specialist render systems, waterproofing basements and below-ground areas, timber treatments and associated making good.
Key responsibilities
Complete damp-proofing and property-preservation work to the agreed specification.
Prepare and protect work areas, control dust and leave sites clean and safe.
Install DPC systems and compatible damp-resistant plaster/render systems.
Carry out tanking, waterproofing, timber treatment and minor remedial repairs where competent.
Take clear job photos and record materials, progress and any variations.
Communicate politely with customers, colleagues and site contacts.
Follow product instructions, risk assessments and health-and-safety procedures.
What we are looking for
Practical experience
Previous hands-on experience in damp proofing, waterproofing, plastering, rendering, timber treatment or closely related building work.
Reliable & professional
Punctual, tidy and comfortable working in customers’ homes. Able to explain progress and raise problems early.
Safe working
Good awareness of PPE, manual handling, dust control and safe use of tools and products. A CSCS card is useful but not essential.
CIS is a tax-deduction scheme and does not itself decide employment status. Atruss Preservation will assess the working arrangement before engagement. PAYE applicants will receive statutory employment rights applicable to their role.
