External access allowed the remedial DPC to be installed from the front elevation while the affected internal finishes were prepared and restored. The sequence demonstrates why skirting and adjacent finishes may need to be inspected: concealed voids and deterioration can otherwise remain hidden.

In some properties, access and wall construction allow the remedial DPC to be installed from the external face. The drilling pattern and specification must suit the masonry and survey findings.
Skirting can conceal damaged plaster, gaps, decay and low-level moisture patterns. Inspection helps establish the extent of the problem and the preparation required.
